Work

As most of you know I have been looking for work for 2 months now. I am so broke that I have to borrow money for gas... often. (thank you to those that of you that have helped me) I finally found a place. A position just opened up at Calumet Photo in Escondido. I will be working in the rental department. This is such a relief to me. I have had a couple of side jobs recently that have quickly vanished as I am paying bare minimums on all my bills that will keep me from going into collection.
I have to talk to HR and the president of the company over the next 2 weeks to go over the details of my job so I will be starting in the middle of next month.
Thank you John and Paul Snay and Michelle Oleary and Kate Rice. I gitchu back

Links

Just an update. If you click on the title of any blog, it will link you to the rest of the pictures from that shoot. Scroll over any blog title (except this one) and you'll see that it is a link.
Peace!

Wilderness session

Wilderness was a pool in Santa Barbara. It is going to be destroyed very soon so they can expand the 101. In the 5 years it has been around it has seen a lot.
The house originated as the business location of Wildereness surf boards. As business picked up the house was too small to meet the demand of the surf industry. He relocated but kept the house. The house was nestled between one neighbor and a freeway. Because of the prime location they built a pool. No noise issues and plenty of parking. The popularity of the pool grew but always remained underground to a degree. The famous parties at this echoed of a party house in San Diego.
I am proud that I was able to be a part of history and I am hurt that it will end soon. It will be buried in time like many other skate spots. I'll be posting photos that I have taken there over the years.
Cheers!

HesH SesH 4

It was so fucking hot that day. That is the first thing anyone says when they refer to the 4th HesH SesH. No one would skate more than 15 minutes at a time. John Snay and Michelle Oleary were dripping sweat at 8 in the morning before anyone even got there.

That aside, it was fun. Tommy Sandoval came out for a bit and like usual Cory invited some people that didn't mingle well with others. They just sat in the corner by themselves like a high school clique. Cory, when the fuck will you learn. Thank you to everyone that came out, even if for a short time. Sara brought a stick board in the morning and that was a blast. She brought it later to the after party. People played with that thing for hours!

Anyways here are some pics

The next day Paul Snay and I went back and found a sewer drain. What an awesome spot!

Lake Powell August 2007

I recently took a trip to Lake Powell. I got some amazing photos and had a great time. Kate Rice got to experience the Utah desert in all of it's heat and wonder. The lake was 85 degrees so the heat was never an issue. Mike Petschek discovered the need for an extra battery for his camera. Amber Hill, Peggy Petschek and Kate Rice bonded over margaritas. They also plotted and schemed nicknames for everyones that they served drinks in. Stevey Hill mastered the art of towing a tube and throwing people out of it. That tube was going so fast on those turns. One time Wesley Hill jumped the tube off of a wake and he himself was chucked above the tube that was already airborne. Despite the generator and steering issues it was a lot of fun for everyone that was there. Lake Powell is an incredible raw landscape with an enormous lake in the middle of it. Lake Powell was so rural that until the lake was created 50 years ago, it was the most untouched land in the United States. There is still virgin soil in many places surrounding Lake Powell.

ok here are some photos.
